State troopers are investigating a two-vehicle accident on Highway 411 in Cherokee County Wednesday night that left a Piedmont woman dead. The victim was identified as 57-year-old Susan Fann Mason, who was driving a 1994 Ford Tempo. The other driver, 50-year-old Melvin Nelson of Collinsville, was in a 2005 Mack Truck. Nelson was not injured; Mason was taken to Cherokee Medical Center where she later died.
