Anniston police tried to stop a car for a minor traffic violation Sunday morning but the vehicle sped off. That led to a brief chase which ended when the suspect car crashed into a ditch at 14th and Woodstock Avenue. That led to a brief foot chase which ended with the capture of 24-year-old Antoine Dorman, the driver of the car, and his passenger, 45-year-old Carlton Welch of Oxford. The car turned out to have been stolen; Dorman and Welch were charged with receipt of stolen property as well as fleeing police and possessing drug paraphernalia.
