Firing range

There was a new development this week in the controversy over a firing range on Wyeth Mountain. Meeting in special session Tuesday night, the Guntersville City Council adopted a law that prevents the range from reopening. The city of Albertville ordered it closed two weeks ago and owner Barry Harbin was requesting a business license inside the Guntersville police jurisdiction. Both the Guntersville and Albertville city councils and the Marshall County Commission had been getting complaints from residence about noise from the range.
