The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for an area including Marshall, DeKalb, Etowah, Calhoun, Blount and Cherokee counties. Widespread thunderstorm activity is anticipated from this evening into the early hours of tomorrow morning. The strongest storms could produce damaging straight-line winds between 60 and 70 miles an hour, large hail in excess of a quarter size and frequent lightning strikes along with locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding.
