On Sunday night, a woman called 9-1-1 to report that she had just seen a man jump from the top of the U.S. Highway 431 Bridge in Guntersville into the Tennessee River below. A Guntersville police officer responded in about one minute and found a boat but no one in the water. Those in the boat claimed they had not seen anyone jump. The Guntersville and Union Rescue Squads spent Monday dragging the river but again found nothing.
