It was one year ago Wednesday that a driver in DeKalb County stuck and killed Christina Genco of Boston, who was taking part in a Bike and Build ride from South Carolina to Southern California. Thursday, riders in the 2012 Bike and Build ride arrived in Alabama, wearing ribbons on the jerseys with Genco's initials. They took a different route this year, taking Highway 40 from Rome, Georgia, to Scottsboro and then onto Highway 35 to cross the Tennessee River. Along their way across the country, the riders will stop in 10 different cities to work on Habitat for Humanity houses.
