Brody Bill trial

The Brody Bill is an Alabama law that allows for the death penalty in capital cases involving women who are murdered while pregnant. And the first case in which that law is being applied is taking place in Marshall County. Jury selection began Monday for the trial of 32-year-old Jessie Phillips of Albertville. He's charged with killing his wife, 23-year-old Erica Carmen Phillips. She was shot to death at Lakeside Carwash in Guntersville in February 2009; she was eight weeks pregnant at the time.
