Jax state senior drafted

A senior from Jacksonville State has been chosen in the Major League Baseball amateur draft. Ben Waldrip, a left-handed hitting first baseman, was selected in the 10th round Tuesday by the Colorado Rockies. Waldrip hit .330 this season for the Gamecocks with 18 homers and 61 runs batted in. He called Coors Field "a great hitters' park" and said Colorado is a great organization and he's looking forward to his future with the Rockies.
